To mark the 101st anniversaries of Haleakalā National Park and Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, specialty license plates were released in 2015 as a part of an effort from the state to raise money for our national parks.
The plates depict colorful scenes of lava flowing and a Nēnē standing atop Haleakalā.
A license plate is a very special way for kama‘āina to show off their support and love for their parks. Nonresidents can’t get them like a T-shirt or postcard.
